Were looking for a Senior Design Engineer to lead the development of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) for mission-critical facilities, including hyperscale data centers. In this role, you'll work with industry-leading MEP teams, vendors, and technology partners to design innovative, high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities
Lead BAS & EPMS Design
  • Serve as the BAS/EPMS subject matter expert for large-scale projects, working closely with clients, engineers, and vendors.
  • Develop system architectures, control sequences, and design specifications for DDC- and PLC-based systems.
  • Select and specify instrumentation, sensors, actuators, valves, and network devices for seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on network security, VLANs, and system interface requirements.
  • Review and refine sequence of operations, system diagrams, and alarm lists to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Oversee Revit/BIM/AutoCAD design production and coordinate with internal and external design teams.
Support Construction & Project Execution
  • Develop and manage design deliverables across all project phases (SD, DD, IFP, IFC).
  • Lead design reviews, QA/QC checks, and page-turn sessions with internal and external teams.
  • Provide technical guidance for construction administration (CA), ensuring seamless execution from design to commissioning.
Project Communication & Leadership
  • Serve as a key liaison between clients, trade engineers, and technology vendors, ensuring alignment on project goals.
  • Manage project reporting, documentation, and progress tracking using internal tools.
  • Effectively balance multiple projects while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
Mentor & Lead the Team
  • Supervise and develop a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, performance feedback, and mentorship.
  • Assist in resource planning, project staffing, and hiring efforts to attract top talent.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience 8+ years in BAS/EPMS design, with at least 4 years focused on data center, mission-critical, or high-tech projects.
  • Technical Expertise Deep knowledge of DDC, PLC, BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, networking (VLANs, LANs, routers, switches), and IT/OT security best practices.
  • Industry Knowledge Strong understanding of data center HVAC controls, energy efficiency strategies, and smart building solutions.
  • Software Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Education Bachelors degree in engineering, construction, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Communication & Leadership Ability to effectively manage projects, interface with clients, and mentor junior engineers.
Travel
  • Up to 15% travel for site visits, client meetings, and industry events.
