Job Summary:

The Field Clerk supports daily operations of the WTG Amarillo office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Answer and direct multi-line phone calls; provide accurate information to customers.
  • Assist and de-escalate interactions with rude or irate customers.
  • Create and complete work orders; support field technicians as needed.
  • Handle emergency locate requests across multiple districts.
  • Process walk-in payments, tally and balance cash, and prepare bank deposits
  • Collect, open, and sort mail; maintain cash log entries.
  • Research and process billing adjustments; post payments.
  • Respond to customer questions about service connections, disconnections, billing, and payment arrangements.
  • Manage daily email correspondence.
  • Download/upload meter reading data
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • A minimum of 1 year prior experience in customer service, utilities, or clerical work strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CIS (Customer Information Systems) and utility software a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Relevant college coursework preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
