Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or the equivalent

Completion of Canyon ISD substitute training

Special Knowledge Skills:

Must have a pleasing personality and a desire to work with students.

Must have the ability to assume responsibility for direct instruction of students.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Provides classroom instruction and assistance to students.
2. Supervises students.
3. Uses professional information discreetly and judiciously.
4. Interacts with campus faculty and students in a positive and professional manner.
5. Represents the school district to the community in a positive professional way.
6. Actively accepting positions is essential.
7. Abide by CISD policies and procedures for substitutes.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping
• Motion: Moderate walking
• Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
• Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise
• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
