Sr Epic Optime Analyst

Job Summary

  • Serves as a senior level Epic analyst supporting surgical services workflows, specifically Epic Optime and Anesthesia
  • Works with clinical, operational, and IT teams to design, build, optimize, and support Epic applications post go live
  • Acts as a subject matter resource for perioperative systems and ongoing enhancements
  • UTSW emphasizes a team based EMR group with experienced analysts supporting ongoing development


Core Responsibilities
  • Build, configure, and maintain Epic Optime (and often Anesthesia)
  • Support:
    • Surgery scheduling workflows
    • Case documentation
    • Preference cards
    • OR utilization and reporting
  • Troubleshooting & support
    • Handle incidents, tickets, and system issues
    • Root cause analysis and long term fixes
  • Optimization work
    • Improve workflows post stabilization
    • Partner with perioperative leadership on enhancements
  • Project work
    • Participate in upgrades, new departments, or expansions
    • Lead or contribute to system implementations and integrations
  • Stakeholder engagement
    • Work directly with surgeons, OR staff, anesthesia teams
    • Translate clinical needs into system solutions


Required Qualifications
  • Epic certification:
    • Optime (required)
    • Anesthesia (strong plus)
  • Experience:
    • ~4 plus years Epic analyst experience (senior level expectation aligns with market and postings)
    • Strong build and support experience, not just end user usage
  • Technical skills:
    • Workflow design and system configuration
    • Troubleshooting and production support
    • Understanding of integrations and downstream systems
